What this app does with your location
When you check the weather, your coordinates (latitude and longitude) are sent to two open-source services to fetch data:
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — weather forecast data
- Nominatim / OpenStreetMap (nominatim.org) — place name lookup
No personal information beyond your coordinates is shared with these services, and neither stores it.
Saving your location
If you tap Save this location, your coordinates and place name are stored in your browser's local storage — on your device only. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us or any third party.
To remove it, tap Remove next to the saved location indicator, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Garden sunlight preference
If you set a sunlight level (Sunny, Mixed, or Shaded), it is stored in your browser's local storage under the key gardenOrientation. Like your saved location, this data stays on your device only and is never sent anywhere.
To remove it, tap the active button again to deselect it, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Sharing a link
When you tap Share, your coordinates and place name are included in the URL. Only share the link with people you're comfortable knowing your general location.
Push notifications
If you enable push notifications, your browser generates a unique push subscription (an endpoint URL and encryption keys). This subscription, along with your saved location and notification preferences, is sent to our notification server so it can deliver your chosen alerts. No other personal data is collected or stored.
You can disable notifications at any time via the bell icon in the header. This removes your subscription from our server.
No tracking
This site uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies. The only data stored on your device is your saved location, garden sunlight preference, and notification settings, and only if you choose to set them.
